How to Stop Drinking. Drinking is a tool of socialization. People drink from time to time, in a friend's party, in your own celebration, in a wedding rehearsal, when getting a long with acquaintances and loved ones, in every special moment in life we always drink.
Some call it beneficial, and others are on the contrary. But it actually depends on how much your drink. No matter on what age you are now if you drink lots of alcohol even make it your daily routine, health issues will be encountered, and addiction is the final danger to face.

The remaining problem is the most difficult one to overcome; how to stop drinking. Going to a rehabilitation center sometimes sound terrifying, but you don't have any choice, except your inner motivation is so strong, thus you can handle anything in the comfort of your home, and you can be a better person surrounded by your lovely family.

Now if you do committed to stop drinking, there are some steps to take.

First, your motivation of quitting stopping should be elaborated; what positive points taken from this action.
Thinking of it to the deep of your mind and soul; what are good things about your addiction, what does it do for you, what are good things to happen when you stop drinking, what are the negative aspects of quitting?

Second, get full support. Call your friends, even all of your friends to support you in reaching your goal. Go for therapy, or take a self-directed treatment approach. This is the second essential step to determine your success. Get socialized with a recovery support group and attend the meetings regularly.

Third, set your goal and arrange a situation of 'reward and punishment' rule in your environment. When your goal is achieved, you're entitled to get "little amusement" that you can set based on your preference, for example you go cruising around the world with friends. But if you fail, you and your friends can easily punish you.

Fourth, avoid drinking temptation. It's good to reduce visiting places that will only urge you to drink. Or, you can practice saying "no" to alcohol in social situations. Ask your close friend to keep an eye to you and always remind you of the rule you make.

Fifth, distract yourself and get physical. You can go to movies, join courses, use games and arts to distract yourself when the passion of drinking beat you back. Next, go to the gym and take up a sport to positively waste your time.
